London police investigate death of woman after Finsbury Park burglary

The Metropolitan Police are investigating the death of a 75-year-old woman following an aggravated burglary in Tollington Park, Finsbury Park, north London. Officers responded to the incident at approximately 9:20 pm on Tuesday.

Both the woman and an 81-year-old man were treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to the hospital. While the man was discharged the following day, the woman passed away in the hospital on Wednesday night. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Massink stated that the investigation is in its early stages and detectives are pursuing all lines of enquiry. A crime scene remains active at the residence and along Evershot Road. Authorities have increased the police presence in the area and are appealing to local residents for witness accounts or doorbell footage to assist with the investigation.
