London police seek suspect in fatal Enfield shooting
The Metropolitan Police have identified 35-year-old Abreham Woldegiworgis as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Erdem Mustafa. The incident occurred on 19 October at approximately 9:30 pm at The Sun & Woolpack Pub on Hertford Road in Enfield, north London. Mustafa, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene despite medical intervention.
Investigators believe the shooting may have been a targeted assassination. Detectives are searching for Woldegiworgis, an Ethiopian national with links to Enfield, Haringey, and Brixton. CCTV footage from the night of the incident reportedly shows a man wearing a bright orange or red wig and a beanie hat. Police have released images showing how Woldegiworgis may have changed his appearance, noting he previously had long dreadlocks and facial hair but may now have closely cropped hair and no beard.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on 26 October on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains in custody. Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, has urged the public to provide any relevant CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or mobile phone footage and warned individuals not to approach the suspect.
