London police seize 90 luxury cars worth over £8 million

The Metropolitan Police Service conducted a three-day operation in London, resulting in the seizure of 90 vehicles with a total value exceeding £8 million. The crackdown, which took place between August 7 and August 9, targeted drivers operating without insurance, lacking valid licenses, or engaging in dangerous and anti-social driving.

Officers focused their efforts on affluent areas, including Hyde Park, Kensington, and Chelsea. Among the seized luxury vehicles was a rare Ferrari Monza SP2, valued at approximately €3.7 million, which had been in the United Kingdom for only one day. The driver of the Ferrari was reportedly operating with only a provisional license and no appropriate insurance.

Other high-end vehicles confiscated included models from Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, and Bentley. The operation utilized new police powers that allow for the immediate immobilization of vehicles involved in anti-social behavior. In addition to vehicle seizures, the police made several arrests related to drug offenses, possession of stolen bank cards, and money laundering suspicions.
