London resident seeks €120,000 after apartment demolished while he slept inside

A resident of London, Nicola Shea, is seeking €120,000 in damages after his apartment in the historic ‘The Cricketers’ building in Kensington was demolished while he was still sleeping inside.

On the morning of July 18, 2026, Shea was awakened by loud noises and discovered that workers had begun tearing down his residence. The situation was exacerbated when workers, unaware of his presence, constructed the building's main door, effectively trapping him inside the unit during the demolition process.

Shea has filed a lawsuit against the property owner and RSL Slough Ltd, alleging harassment and illegal eviction. He claims the incident caused severe shock, stress, and anxiety. The defendants have denied the allegations.
