London Stock Exchange to Launch Near‑Continuous LSE 24 Trading Platform by 2027
The London Stock Exchange Group announced plans for a new trading venue called LSE 24 that will operate from 17:00 to 07:50 London time, providing near‑continuous trading on weekdays. The platform will run separately from the existing market, which keeps its regular 08:00‑16:30 schedule, and will include a short 30‑minute pause each evening for closing procedures.
Client testing is slated for the end of 2026, with the first instruments – exchange‑traded products (ETPs) – expected to trade in the first half of 2027. The exchange may later add UK‑listed equities, subject to regulatory approval and market‑maker participation. LSE 24 is intended to meet demand from global investors, particularly those in Asia, for more flexible trading hours and to improve liquidity and efficiency across digital markets.
