London Symphony Orchestra debuts Hanoi concert series
The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), led by conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, debuted the Vietnam Airlines Classic – Hanoi Concert 2026 at the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi. The two-night event, held on October 2 and 3, featured over 100 artists and included performances of works by Lyadov, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky.
The concert opened with a performance of the Vietnamese national anthem, “Marcia,” which received a standing ovation from the audience. Soloists Benjamin Marquise Gilmore and Eivind Ringstad performed Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante.”
Musician Quoc Trung, who has organized the LSO's performances in Vietnam five times, noted the rigorous standards required for such high-level classical music productions. The event aims to strengthen cultural exchange between international artists and the local Vietnamese public.
