London to host annual March for Life ahead of assisted dying vote

The annual March for Life is scheduled to take place in London on Saturday, September 5. As the largest event for the British pro-life movement, organizers expect record attendance, following last year's turnout of over 10,000 people.

The march comes just six days before the House of Commons is set to hold a second reading of the Assisted Dying Bill, which seeks to legalize assisted dying for terminally ill adults. This year's theme, “Abortion Hurts the Family,” aims to expand the public debate to include the impact of abortion on fathers, siblings, grandparents, and broader family relationships.

The event will feature significant religious participation, with 14 Catholic bishops expected to attend—double the number from the previous year. Archbishop of Westminster Richard Moth is scheduled to celebrate the inaugural Mass. The day's program includes summits for families and youth, with the march itself proceeding from Tufton Street to a rally at Parliament Square.
