London to host first major college football game with Union Jack Classic

Major college football is expanding its international presence with the debut of the Union Jack Classic in London. The event will feature a Big 12 Conference matchup between Arizona State and Kansas.

Brian Dubiski, CEO of the Union Jack Classic, noted that while the NFL has established a presence in London for decades, bringing college football abroad presents unique challenges. These include educating local fans on traditions such as marching bands and school spirit, as well as securing title sponsors and hospitality partnerships.

The initiative follows the successful model of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland, which has become an annual event. Dubiski and his partners have secured a multi-year contract with Wembley Stadium for the series.
