London to host second Halal Forum to discuss global industry expansion
The second London Halal Forum will take place on October 10-11 at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre. Organized by Halal360—a joint initiative of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development and the Halal Products Development Company—the event aims to explore the expansion of the halal economy beyond food and certification into sectors such as investment, tourism, technology, and supply chains.
Discussions are expected to focus on the role of artificial intelligence and digital tools in market access and supply-chain management. The forum will host participants from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and other African nations to foster international trade and cross-border partnerships. A dedicated event will also showcase Palestinian culinary traditions and businesses.
According to DinarStandard, Muslim consumer spending across six key sectors—food, fashion, tourism, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and leisure—reached $2.6 trillion in 2024, with projections suggesting this could rise to $3.56 trillion by 2029. Additionally, Islamic finance assets were estimated at $5.99 trillion in 2024, potentially reaching $9.72 trillion by 2029.
