London Trans+ Pride march draws 150,000, the biggest ever

An estimated 150,000 people marched through central London on 25 July, the organisers say making it the world’s largest Trans+ Pride event. The procession began near the BBC headquarters and ended in Trafalgar Square, where speakers celebrated the community and urged political action.

Protesters condemned the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s new guidance on single‑sex spaces and called on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to reverse policies they view as anti‑trans. Lewis G Burton, a founding member of London Trans+ Pride, said the record turnout shows the community’s resilience. Caroline Litman addressed the crowd, warning that more children could die unless changes are made, and recalled the suicide of her daughter Alice after a prolonged wait for gender‑affirming care.
