London transport network faces major weekend closures

Multiple London transport services, including the Underground, Elizabeth line, DLR, and London Overground, will face significant disruptions and closures on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, due to planned maintenance.

Travelers heading to Heathrow Airport are advised to plan extra time, as the Piccadilly line will have no service between Hammersmith and all Heathrow terminals, nor between Hammersmith and Uxbridge, starting from 1:00 AM Saturday through Sunday. The Elizabeth line will offer a reduced service on Sunday between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4, with limited trains per hour and the closure of Acton Main Line, Hanwell, and West Ealing stations.

Other affected services include the District line, which will be closed between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway, and the DLR, which will see no service between Shadwell and Tower Gateway on Sunday. Several London Overground lines, including the Lioness and Mildmay lines, will also operate with reduced services or partial closures throughout the weekend.
