London Victoria rail services disrupted by trackside fire

Major disruption is affecting rail services to and from London Victoria following a trackside fire near Clapham Junction. The fire, which occurred on Sunday, damaged vital signalling equipment, leading to an extremely reduced service on Monday.

Southern and Gatwick Express services are among the most heavily impacted, with many routes suspended or facing delays of up to 60 minutes. Specific suspended routes include services between London Victoria and destinations such as Ore, Littlehampton, Epsom Downs, London Bridge, West Croydon, Dorking, East Grinstead, and Brighton.

National Rail has advised commuters to use alternative London terminals and to allow extra time for travel. Passengers with Gatwick Express and Southern tickets may use alternative London Underground and Overground routes at no additional cost. Additionally, London Underground services are experiencing delays, including minor delays on the Circle and Northern lines and severe delays on the Victoria line due to a separate signal failure at Brixton.
