Lonely Planet announces Best in Travel 2027 destinations

Lonely Planet has released its “Best in Travel 2027” list, featuring 50 destinations and experiences selected by editors and writers based on firsthand travel experiences. The list aims to provide travelers with options for individuality and discovery, moving away from mainstream travel hype.

Notable inclusions include Skanör-Falsterbo on Sweden’s southwest coast, described as a place for relaxation with unique sand beaches and traditional Scandinavian architecture. In the United States, seven locations made the list: New Mexico, Maryland, Miami, Alaska, Rose Island in Rhode Island, the Redwoods in California, and northeastern Minnesota, specifically the area from Duluth up the North Shore.
