Long Beach State appoints Ken Ammann to new basketball leadership role

Long Beach State Executive Director of Athletics Bobby Smitheran has announced the appointment of Ken Ammann as the Associate Athletic Director of Basketball Strategy & Revenue. Ammann will also serve as the General Manager for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

In this new role, Ammann will oversee business operations, focusing on fundraising, donor relations, NIL partnerships, revenue sharing, and roster planning. The position is designed to address the evolving landscape of college basketball, specifically regarding the transfer portal and revenue sharing models. Ammann will work alongside coaches Chris Acker and Minyon Moore to support student-athletes and strengthen the programs' competitiveness.
