Long Chau and Bayer expand contraceptive and menorrhagia treatment access in Vietnam

Long Chau and Bayer Vietnam have partnered to expand access to new-generation contraceptive solutions that also include indications for treating menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding). This initiative aims to provide more reproductive health options for Vietnamese women across various life stages, from reproductive years through the menopausal transition.

Menorrhagia is defined by international standards from FIGO and NICE based on blood volume, duration, and its impact on a woman's quality of life. If left untreated, the condition can lead to iron-deficiency anemia, fatigue, and pelvic pain. Research conducted at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and Hue Central Hospital indicates that menorrhagia accounts for 62.2% of cases among perimenopausal and menopausal women experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding in Vietnam.
