Long Island Association launches AI academy and networking initiatives
The Long Island Association (LIA) is implementing several initiatives as part of its centennial year to support the regional economy. Through the LIA-AI Growth Academy, 50 local ventures with 20 or fewer employees are participating in a six-month intensive training program. This collaboration, supported by a grant from Google.org and conducted in partnership with Stony Brook University, aims to provide small businesses with practical artificial intelligence tools. Upon completion, participants receive a $5,000 implementation grant.
Additionally, the LIA held a summer networking event at the Long Island Children’s Museum to connect business leaders and community stakeholders from Nassau and Suffolk counties. The event was part of the organization's ongoing centennial programming, which focuses on strengthening regional business connections and advocating for issues such as housing affordability and energy resilience.
