Long Island University athletics report multiple victories

Long Island University (LIU) athletic teams secured several notable victories across hockey and volleyball competitions.

In women’s volleyball, the Sharks extended their winning streak to 12 matches following a 3-0 sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). This victory maintains their undefeated record in NEC play at 8-0. The win followed a five-set victory against FDU the previous day, which had extended their streak to 11 matches.

The LIU men’s hockey team defeated the USA Hockey National Team Development Program 5-1 in an exhibition match. Five different players scored for the Sharks, with Sixten Jennersjö contributing a goal and two assists.

In women’s ice hockey, the University of Delaware defeated LIU 3-2. Morgan Link scored the game-winning goal in the third period, while Matte Robitzer earned her first win in net for Delaware, making 19 saves.
