China commemorates 90th anniversary of the Long March victory

China is observing the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March through various commemorative activities, historical reflections, and artistic exhibitions.

In Guangzhou, a 90-meter-long themed Chinese painting titled ‘Journey Like a Rainbow, Passing the Torch’ is being exhibited at the Guangzhou People's Art Center. Created by 90 teachers and students from Guangzhou University over five months, the scroll depicts 25 classic historical moments from the Long March to serve as a form of ideological and political education.

Historical commemorations are also taking place at significant sites such as Huining and Jiangtaibao, where the various Red Army forces successfully converged in 1936. These locations continue to draw visitors seeking to honor the legacy of the march.

Reflections on the Long March emphasize the importance of the ‘Long March spirit,’ specifically highlighting the principles of independence, seeking truth from facts, and maintaining discipline. These values are being promoted to contemporary youth as a guide for national development and modernization.
