Longaví rural women's association celebrates 16th anniversary

The Mesa de la Mujer Rural con Enfoque de Género Longaví, a productive group of 19 women primarily serving as heads of households, recently celebrated its 16th anniversary. Founded in 2010, the organization focuses on producing fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as processed goods such as jams, sweets, and sauces. Some members also produce bakery items and wool handicrafts.

The group has received support from the Chilean government through the FOSIS Emprendamos Grupal Autogestionado Program. This assistance has provided tools, resources, and a modular container converted into a workspace to help optimize their operations. Corina Carrión, president of the association, stated that their current primary goal is to obtain a sanitary resolution to allow them to participate in major national fairs and expand their market reach.
