Longiano murder investigation: Suspect detained after body found in well

Carabinieri have detained a 29-year-old man in connection with the murder of Denaldo Maxhallaku, a 31-year-old Albanian painter who had been missing since October 8. The victim's body was discovered on Wednesday, October 28, at the bottom of a ten-meter-deep concrete drainage well in the Felloniche area of Longiano.

The investigation follows the discovery of the victim's car, which was found completely burned near the Rubicone river approximately twenty days earlier. Investigators recovered pistol shell casings near the well, and preliminary findings suggest the victim died from gunshot wounds.

The suspect, an acquaintance of the victim, faces charges of murder and concealment of a corpse. During questioning, the individual reportedly made admissions regarding responsibility. Authorities are investigating several motives, including economic disputes related to unpaid debt and potential conflicts involving drugs.
