Longlevens AFC receives £1 million donation from club president
Bill Davis, the 73-year-old president of Longlevens AFC, has won £1 million in the National Lottery and donated the entire prize to the club. Davis matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the draw on Wednesday, September 2.
Longlevens AFC, a club playing in the ninth tier of English football based in Gloucester, has used the same set of lottery numbers for 32 years. The club previously spent approximately £200 annually on lottery tickets.
The windfall is expected to be used to secure the club's future, with immediate priorities including the improvement of club facilities, such as the clubhouse, and necessary maintenance work.
