Longueuil Festi-Pétanque 2026 attracts hundreds of players

The Festi-Pétanque festival in Longueuil, Quebec, will run from Thursday to Sunday as part of its 2026 edition. Hundreds of participants will compete in a range of events, from the open‑to‑all Méli‑Mélo tournament to specialist head‑to‑head matches. A special invitation tournament will offer a $1,000 prize and feature eight Quebec players and eight international competitors.

The weekend will culminate with the flagship triple‑team tournament on 52 fields, deciding the champions on Sunday. Organiser Hélène Bergeron highlighted a new feature: the return of the individual shooting contest, where players must displace a target ball from various distances. "Madame Bergeron souligne que la principale nouveauté de cette édition est le retour du concours de tir," the event briefing noted.

Additional attractions include a chefs' tournament with thirty teams of restaurant chefs and regional representatives, and a unique format using four balls per player to encourage strategic play.
