Longueuil inaugurates Place Desaulniers social housing project

The City of Longueuil and its partners have inaugurated Place Desaulniers, a new social and community housing building featuring 175 units. Located near the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station, the development offers apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms to accommodate families, couples, and single individuals.

The project represents a total investment of over $61 million. Funding was provided by the Government of Canada through the Affordable Housing Fund with more than $28 million, the Government of Quebec with $23.8 million (including the FTQ-Québec Solidarity Fund agreement), and the City of Longueuil with $9.5 million.

Up to 140 tenants may benefit from the Quebec Rent Supplement Program, which aims to limit housing costs to 25% of their income. The project is managed by Habitations Communautaires Longueuil (HCL).
