Longview, Washington factory explosion kills 11 workers

A tank containing a highly flammable chemical burst at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Co. plant in Longview, Washington during an early‑morning shift change on Tuesday. The explosion ignited a large fire, prompting a massive rescue operation. Initially two workers were confirmed dead and nine were missing, but rescuers later recovered the bodies of the remaining workers, bringing the death toll to 11. Fire chief Brent Hanyk said, "We have recovered the eighth and last worker who was listed as missing in this incident." The incident underscores concerns about industrial safety and hazardous material handling.

Authorities continue investigating the cause of the tank failure and assessing the plant's compliance with safety regulations.
