Lonquimay Natural Fest opens video and photo contests to preserve local identity

The Lonquimay Natural Fest, scheduled for 4‑5 September 2026 in the commune of Lonquimay, Araucanía region of Chile, has launched two community contests. The audiovisual category, “Territorio en 5 Minutos”, invites anyone with a genuine connection to Lonquimay to submit short videos filmed entirely within the area, highlighting local identity, nature, culture and daily life. The Photography Competition welcomes photographers and the general public to submit a single image taken in Lonquimay or nearby communes that represents the territory’s landscapes, sport, culture or people.

Submissions are accepted until 22 August 2026 23:59 and must be entered via the festival’s official Instagram account. The event aims to promote sustainable mountain tourism, conserve natural heritage, and strengthen community identity through cinema, photography, outdoor activities, education and local entrepreneurship.
