Lonza appoints Samanta Cimitan as Chief Commercial Officer

Lonza Group has announced the appointment of Samanta Cimitan as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Senior Vice President, and a member of the Extended Executive Committee. Cimitan is scheduled to begin her new role on January 1, 2027.

In this newly created position, Cimitan will oversee Strategic Enterprise Account Management, Global Marketing, and Commercial Excellence. She will hold direct commercial responsibility for Lonza’s strategic accounts and aim to develop a unified go-to-market approach across the company’s three business platforms as part of the ‘One Lonza’ strategy.

Cimitan joins Lonza from the biologics CDMO Celonic, where she has served as Chief Executive Officer for over three years. During her tenure at Celonic, she led a strategic transformation and established a Biologics Development Center in Basel, Switzerland. She previously spent nearly 13 years at Lonza in various commercial and strategy leadership roles.
