Lonzo Ball has denied rumors of his retirement from the NBA following viral speculation sparked by comments made on the ‘Ball in the Family’ podcast. During the episode, Ball reflected on his nine-year career and the devastating chronic knee injuries that forced him to miss over 1,000 days of play, stating, “I feel like I gave everything I had to hoop... I don’t think I ever got to my peak.”

While many social media users interpreted these remarks as a farewell, Ball quickly clarified his status on X, writing, “I retired? News to me lol cuz I’m still waiting for a call... NBA season long.”

The 28-year-old former No. 2 overall pick is currently an unrestricted free agent. His recent professional history includes a stint with the Chicago Bulls, a period with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and a brief time with the Utah Jazz after being waived following a trade.
