Colnago and Look Cycle unveil new gravel racing bicycles
Major cycling manufacturers Colnago and Look Cycle have announced new high-performance gravel bicycle platforms designed for racing and long-distance competition.
Colnago has launched the G5-X, a dedicated gravel platform that moves away from its road-bike heritage. The G5-X features a new geometry focused on stability, a lower bottom bracket, and increased tire clearance of up to 53 mm. It includes integrated storage in the downtube and is available in three configurations using SRAM XPLR electronic groupsets, with prices ranging from €4,900 to €9,200.
Look Cycle introduced the G85 Cezal RS, a racing-focused version of its G85 Cezal platform. Co-developed with professional rider Russell Finsterwald, the RS version utilizes high-modulus carbon fiber to reduce frame weight by 200 grams while increasing stiffness in key areas like the bottom bracket and headset. The design prioritizes control and power transfer, offering tire clearance of up to 57 mm at the front and 50 mm at the rear. The RS model is positioned as a precise, reactive tool for competitive gravel scenarios.
