Lopatnica village becomes new home for Iranian woman from Germany
An Iranian woman named Nasim, who was raised in Germany, has relocated to the Serbian village of Lopatnica near Kraljevo. Following her marriage to a Serbian man named Srđan, she converted to Orthodoxy and adopted the name Jelena.
The couple, along with their two children, decided to leave their life in Germany to seek a more family-oriented lifestyle in rural Serbia. They cited the fast-paced urban environment and the impact of the Western social system on child-rearing as primary reasons for their departure.
In Lopatnica, the family has established a household focused on organic food production and family tourism. They currently raise indigenous livestock, including Buše cows, Moravka pigs, sheep, and goats, aiming to live a life of independence and closer connection to nature.
