L'Oréal shares rise after RBC lifts price target, boosting CAC 40

L'Oréal stock climbed about 2.7% on Tuesday, helping the CAC 40 index gain roughly 0.3% to 8,509 points. The rally followed a new recommendation from Canada’s Royal Bank of Canada, which raised its price target for the French cosmetics giant from €430 to €450 and kept an "outperformance" rating, citing the company’s resilient business model, the early impact of its Beauty Stimulus plan and strong cash‑flow generation.

The broader French market was buoyed by gains in luxury and consumer stocks, while higher oil prices—driven by reports of missile strikes near the Strait of Hormuz—kept overall upside modest. Trade data released the same day showed France’s trade deficit widening to €6.9 billion in May, reflecting a dip in exports and a slight rise in imports.
