Lorca City Council commemorates San Wenceslao flood victims
The Lorca City Council held an ordinary plenary session in September, beginning with a minute of silence to honor the victims of the San Wenceslao flood.
The session marked the 14th anniversary of the September 15, 2009, disaster, which remains one of the most severe climatic events in the municipality's history. Mayor Fulgencio Gil led the tribute, emphasizing the institutional commitment to remembering those who lost loved ones and expressing solidarity with families still recovering from the impact.
During the session, the Mayor reiterated the local government's support for initiatives aimed at improving urban resilience and preventing future risks in the municipality's most vulnerable areas.
