Lorca launches summer wine‑tourism experience as Haro named top Spanish wine town

The Lorca city council has introduced “Historia y Vino”, a summer programme that combines a guided historic walk of the town with a wine tasting at the 18th‑century house El Parloteo. The three scheduled dates – 29 July, 26 August and 30 September – will start at 20:00 from the visitor centre, with limited places booked online. Organisers say the event showcases Lorca’s heritage, gastronomy and wine culture, offering visitors a personalized cultural experience.

Meanwhile, an artificial‑intelligence analysis highlighted Haro in Rioja Alta as the most important Spanish town for wine. The AI cited the town’s high density of elite wineries, consistent quality across vintages, historic winemaking traditions and modern techniques as reasons for its distinction. Haro’s reputation draws tourists, supports local employment and reinforces its role as a central hub of Spain’s wine industry.
