Lord Caitanya's teachings spread from India to the West

The teachings of Lord Caitanya have transitioned from Bengal, India, to the Western world through a lineage of spiritual masters. In 1896, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura published an English treatise on Lord Caitanya’s life and precepts, which served as a foundational text for spreading Krishna consciousness globally.

Following Bhaktivinoda Thakura, his son, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami, expanded this mission by establishing printing presses and numerous temples. The movement saw significant Western expansion through the work of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, whose teachings and associations have influenced disciples across various regions, including Canada and the United States.

Related spiritual discourses within the Back to Godhead publications explore themes of self-realization, the purpose of human life in contrast to biological longevity, and the importance of transcendental association in achieving spiritual perfection.
