Lord of the Dance celebrates 30th anniversary at Hall for Cornwall
The Lord of the Dance anniversary tour, titled ‘30 Years of Standing Ovations’, is currently performing at the Hall for Cornwall until September 26. The production celebrates the milestone of the commercially successful show originally created by Michael Flatley to modernize traditional Irish dance through contemporary music and theatrical storytelling.
The anniversary production features updated choreography, new lighting, and vibrant costumes while maintaining its classic aesthetic. The performance includes a 40-person troupe, live violinists, soprano vocals, and the musical score by Gerard Fahy. The show follows a narrative of good versus evil involving the Little Spirit, the Dark Lord, and the Lord of the Dance, utilizing modern staging and special effects.
