Lord of the Rings Trilogy Added to Disney+ Streaming Library

The complete Peter Jackson "Lord of the Rings" trilogy – "The Fellowship of the Ring," "The Two Towers" and "The Return of the King" – will become available on Disney+ starting 15 July 2024. The films, originally released by Warner Bros., are moving to the Disney streaming service despite the usual practice of keeping major studio titles on their own platforms such as HBO Max. The licensing shift highlights a renewed willingness among studios to share flagship franchises across competing services for limited periods.

Subscribers to Disney+ will gain access to the Oscar‑winning fantasy series without needing an additional subscription, expanding the platform’s catalog of high‑profile cinematic content.
