Lord Paper seeks $5 million to relaunch music career internationally

Ghanaian musician Lord Paper, born Michael Takyi-Frimpong, has stated that he requires at least $5 million to relaunch his music career and compete on an international scale. Speaking in interviews, the Soul, Afrobeats, and Hip Hop artist noted that while a smaller budget may suffice for the Ghanaian market, competing with global stars like Nigerian singer Rema requires significant investment in promotion.

Lord Paper highlighted a shift in the music industry where traditional radio promotion has been largely superseded by expensive digital marketing. He noted that artists now face high costs to trend songs, stating that hiring five influencers could cost as much as GH¢100,000. He attributed his own career's slow progress to insufficient promotion, emphasizing that quality music alone is no longer enough to reach a wide audience in a highly competitive global landscape.
