Lordan Zafranović seeks Fest premiere for ‘Zlatni rez 42: Djeca Kozare’

Director Lordan Zafranović expressed hope that his film, ‘Zlatni rez 42: Djeca Kozare’, will be presented at the Fest international film festival in Belgrade. The film, which has been completed for seven years, is inspired by the true story of tens of thousands of children from the Kozara region who were sent to death camps in the Independent State of Croatia during World War II.

Zafranović noted that interest in the film is particularly high in Republika Srpska because the historical events depicted occurred on that territory. He also mentioned that work is currently underway on a series that is expected to be released a few months after the film. Funding for the project primarily came from Serbia and Republika Srpska.
