Lorena Benítez joins Argentine Society of Pediatric Surgery

Lorena Benítez, head of the Pediatric Surgery Service at the Hospital Materno Infantil San Roque in Paraná, has been formally accepted as a member of the Argentine Society of Pediatric Surgery. This recognition occurred during the V Pediatric Surgery Conferences of the Litoral Region.

During the event, Benítez presented an academic study titled ‘Impact of demographic transition on neonatal surgery: analysis of casuistry and challenges in professional training in the Entre Ríos Reference Center’. The research examines how the declining birth rate in the province of Entre Ríos affects the demand for neonatal surgical interventions, providing data to modernize hospital management.

The achievement is part of an integral accreditation process for the Pediatric Surgery Service, which operates under the Entre Ríos Ministry of Health. The service aims to strengthen its role as a strategic reference center by focusing on value-based care, patient safety, and high-complexity procedures.
