Lorena Piñón Rivera criticizes Mexico's social welfare policies

During a legislative report session, Federal Deputy Lorena Piñón Rivera criticized the Morena government's approach to social welfare. Representing the PRI, Piñón Rivera argued that the administration attempts to measure well-being solely through the number of social program beneficiaries, rather than through tangible improvements in infrastructure, health, education, housing, and employment.

Piñón Rivera warned that economic transfers cannot substitute for fundamental rights and cautioned against the use of social programs for partisan or electoral purposes. She specifically questioned the role of Ariadna Montiel, noting that Montiel's leadership in Morena necessitates a rigorous review of the boundary between state social policy and party electoral strategy.

The deputy also addressed healthcare concerns, challenging official claims regarding medicine supplies by citing reports of shortages faced by workers and patients, specifically mentioning issues involving medical staff in Veracruz.
