Lorena Wiebes defends La Choralis Fourmies Féminine title

Lorena Wiebes of Team SD Worx-Protime successfully defended her title at the La Choralis Fourmies Féminine, winning the 126.4km Women’s ProSeries race for the second consecutive year. The victory was secured via a mass sprint after a series of mid-race attacks failed to break the peloton.

In the final sprint, Wiebes outpaced her competitors to claim her 20th victory of the season. Reports on the podium finishers vary slightly between sources, noting Nienke Veenhoven and Linda Zanetti or Gladys Verhulst-Wild in the top positions. The race course featured an extended middle section through Avesnes-sur-Helpe and Sains-du-Nord, but the rolling terrain was ultimately insufficient to prevent a bunch finish.
