Lorenzo and García lead first stage of Copa BTT Desafío Albacete

José Manuel Lorenzo Contreras and Gemma García Alarcón secured leadership positions during the first stage of the XII Copa BTT Desafío Albacete. Held in Alcalá del Júcar, the event featured a 67-kilometer course with over 200 participants.

In the men's category, Lorenzo Contreras of the Gobik Factory Team won after a competitive race involving several falls and a late-stage battle. He managed to overtake José Bernabé López during the final descent to secure first place. Juan González Sanz followed closely in third.

García Alarcón claimed her fourth victory of the season in the women's category. Despite facing fatigue toward the end of the race, she finished with a lead of 1 minute and 42 seconds over runner-up Almudena Jiménez. Rosa Garrés Martínez completed the podium.
