Lorenzo Mauldin IV signs with BC Lions after retirement

Lorenzo Mauldin IV, a six‑foot‑four, 257‑pound defensive lineman, ended his CFL retirement by signing with the British Columbia Lions on July 27, 2026. Mauldin, the league’s top defensive player in 2022 with a league‑leading 17 sacks, previously played for the Ottawa Redblacks, Calgary Stampeders and Hamilton Tiger‑Cats, accumulating 150 tackles, 32 sacks and three forced fumbles in 67 regular‑season games from 2022‑25. He was a two‑time All‑CFL selection (2022, 2024) and a two‑time East Division All‑CFL pick.

The Lions also added American offensive lineman Tyran Walker‑Hunt to their practice roster. Walker‑Hunt, a six‑foot‑seven, 315‑pound Virginia native, spent 2025 on the Lions’ practice squad after a stint in the Indoor Football League with the Frisco Fighters, where he earned All‑Rookie honors.
