Lorenzo Musetti confirms participation in Rio Open 2027

Italian tennis player Lorenzo Musetti has confirmed his participation in the 2027 Rio Open, scheduled to take place from February 13 to 21 at the Jockey Club Brasileiro. Musetti, currently ranked 25th in the world and a former top-5 player, joins a lineup that already includes Flavio Cobolli, Casper Ruud, and Brazilian player João Fonseca.

The tournament marks a significant return for Musetti, who last competed in Rio in 2023. Although he was scheduled for the 2025 and 2026 editions, physical injuries forced him to withdraw before those competitions began. Musetti expressed enthusiasm for the event, noting that playing in Rio is special for him and that the experience will be enhanced by the tournament's new stadium.

Rio Open director Luiz Carvalho stated that the organization is highly satisfied with Musetti's confirmation, highlighting the player's proficiency on clay courts and his connection with the Brazilian audience.
