Lorenzo Pazolini proposes cutting commissioned roles in Espírito Santo

Lorenzo Pazolini, a candidate for the governorship of Espírito Santo, has proposed reducing state commissioned positions by 25% to 30%. He stated that these cuts could potentially free up R$ 150 million for public policy investments, including expanded protection for women facing violence and improved water and sewage services.

In a separate development regarding the election, Lastênio Cardoso, the mayor of Baixo Guandu, suggested that approximately 700 employees could face dismissal if the current governor, Ricardo Ferraço, loses the election. While Cardoso later admitted he may have exaggerated the number, the comment has intensified the political tension.

Senator-elect Renato Casagrande has responded to the election results by calling for the mobilization of commissioned staff to support Ferraço’s campaign, framing the election as a defense of the current administration’s legacy.
