Lorenzo Pellegrini contract renewal near completion at AS Roma
AS Roma is close to finalising a new contract for captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, the number 7 whose deal expired on 30 June. Director of football Tony D’Amico has been negotiating with the midfielder’s agent, and head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has backed the renewal. Both parties say the gap between the club’s offer and the player’s demands has narrowed to “a white‑smoke” level, with a hand‑shake expected by the weekend.
The renewal is the last of three pending player contracts; Paulo Dybala and Zeki Celik have already agreed new terms. The club hopes to start the Serie A season with Pellegrini confirmed in the squad, while other transfer moves, such as Mason Greenwood’s pending move to Fenerbahçe, continue in parallel.
