Lorenzo Suraci: The journey from Vibo Marina to RTL 102.5 founder

Lorenzo Suraci, the founder and president of RTL 102.5, has risen from his roots in Vibo Marina to become a major figure in the Italian radio industry. Born in Vibo Valentia in 1951, Suraci’s career path shifted significantly after moving to Bergamo.

Initially pursuing engineering studies at the Politecnico di Milano, Suraci transitioned into the entertainment industry after working with his uncle, a theatrical agent. His early ventures included transforming a cinema into a discotheque called 'Il Capriccio'. Since acquiring RTL 102.5 in 1987, he has led the station to become one of Italy’s most listened-to radio networks and has served as vice president of Confindustria RadioTV.
