Loreto Ibarra elected regional president of Republican Party in Coquimbo

Loreto Ibarra has been elected as the regional president of the Republican Party in the Coquimbo Region of Chile. Her victory follows a period of internal tension and structural intervention within the regional organization.

Ibarra stated that the party is currently undergoing a restructuring phase aimed at strengthening internal work and returning to the party’s core principles and roots. Addressing recent conflicts, she acknowledged differences regarding leadership styles but dismissed the possibility of a mass exodus of members, asserting that militants are driven by shared values and convictions.

The new leadership intends to focus on rebuilding the party's internal structure in the coming years, emphasizing a team-based leadership approach rather than personalism.
