Lorik Cana reflects on football career and early struggles

Former Albanian national team captain Lorik Cana has shared reflections on his professional journey and personal history in a new interview for the Albanian Football Federation's "Legends Speak" series.

Cana detailed his career path, covering his time at various major clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Marseille, Sunderland, Galatasaray, Lazio, and Nantes. He also discussed his leadership role during Albania's historic qualification for EURO 2016 and offered his perspectives on the current national team.

A significant portion of the interview focused on the early hardships of his career. Cana recounted how, at age 16, he faced visa denials for both Arsenal in London and Paris Saint-Germain due to his family's status as political emigrants from Kosovo living in Switzerland. To pursue his professional dreams, he described crossing the border from Geneva into France illegally to attend a trial at PSG, an event he noted as life-changing.
