Loris Capirossi inducted into MotoGP Hall of Fame

Loris Capirossi has been officially inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame as a ‘MotoGP Legend’ during the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The honor was presented by MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta.

Capirossi’s career spanned over two decades, during which he secured three world titles: the 125cc championship in 1990 and 1991, and the 250cc championship in 1998. Notably, his 1990 title made him the youngest Grand Prix world champion in history at 17 years and 165 days.

Over 328 Grand Prix starts, Capirossi achieved 29 victories, 99 podiums, and 41 pole positions. He is one of only five riders to win Grand Prix races with three different manufacturers: Honda, Yamaha, and Ducati. He also secured Ducati’s first-ever premier class victory at the 2003 Catalan Grand Prix.

Currently, Capirossi serves as a Safety Advisor for Dorna Sports and represents the organization within the MotoGP Race Direction.
