Lorraine Kelly volunteers at Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Broadcaster Lorraine Kelly spent a morning volunteering at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on the Scottish Event Campus. She performed three frontline roles: welcoming the games workforce, meeting Team Scotland netball athletes before their training, and assisting the Spectator Services team by greeting fans and helping them navigate the venue.
The appearance highlighted the effort of more than 4,000 volunteers – the Games’ “Legends” – who have been trained by Allwyn UK, operator of the National Lottery and the Games’ official volunteer learning and development partner. Allwyn UK officials noted that three‑quarters of the volunteers are Scottish and a third have previously helped at earlier Commonwealth Games or other major events. Kelly said, “There was no way I was missing the chance to get stuck in and be part of this,” praising the training and enthusiasm of the volunteer workforce.
